One whole month of NO SHOPPING! It helped that we had NO MONEY, so there was no incentive to shop. It also helped that it was TOO DANG COLD to even get out of bed, much less get out of the house, but I did manage to sub two days in a row. Woo-hoo! That'll be a whopping $100 I'll get at the end of February.

I'm having to re-think some things about money. Like: why isn't there ever enough? And: where did it all go last month, when I wasn't spending any? Also: Does anybody ever get a raise anymore? It seems to me, if you're doing an incredible job in the midst of this recession, you should get SOMETHING in the way of recognition from your boss. I'm hoping it will eventually be a move back to Texas....all expenses paid.

So for now I'll bite my tongue and prepare to sit in the house for another month.

I am going into week three of having this mysterious stomach ailment....been upset basically since we got back from Texas on Jan. 4. Today Jerry and I skipped the last two hours of church and came home and plopped ourselves in front of the TV with our apples. Haven't felt like doing much since we got home. I made a doctor's appointment last Thursday, but got up that morning and felt much better, so I cancelled it. Now I'm feeling down again. I've lost about 8 lbs., which is about what I probably gained over the Christmas holidays! So in a way, it's a good thing. Will coax it along another few days before I consider the doctor again.

Resolutions

RESOLUTIONS

No more candy, no more chips, no more guacamole dips!
No more ice cream, cake or pie; this is really “do or die!”
Good thing I got the stomach flu, to start my diet right on cue.
Now on to spending: it’s got to stop. This just won’t be my year to shop.
The year 2010 is fine to pay off all 2009.
About my projects: I’ll get them done. (I started in 2001!)
I’ll get those scrapbooks all in order; I’ll try to not be such a hoarder.
I’ll sort my recipes and clothes; what’s hiding there nobody knows.
I’ll clean the attic and garage so they’re not just a big hodge podge!
I’ll eat at home or take it with me; no first-run movies; I’ll just watch TV.
And even though I have a fear I’ve said these same things every year,
This time I mean it; I will be clever . . . it’s going to be my best year ever!!!
